STIE Certified to ISO: 27001 Standard

On the 31st of August 2022, STIE Pte. Ltd. was certified to ISO/IEC: 27001:2013, adding another level to its list of accomplishments in the field of Information Technology services.

As the awarded certificate indicates, STIE has been certified to this high standard in providing “corporate IT support and services to business verticals including corporate HQ, facility management, IT manpower supply operations.”

This certification adds another layer of trust between STIE and its clients, as ISO: 27001 is the leading international standard for information security. It aims to focus on systems to protect a company's information's confidentiality, integrity, and availability. Clients can rely on their data being handled to ISO and IEC standards.

ISO: 27001 certification also establishes a robust Information Security Management System (ISMS). ISO provides a framework to be followed, and the organisation also undergoes a thorough risk assessment to identify potential problems in handling information. Once that is determined, the organisation specifies the steps it will take to prevent these problems.

Companies and organisations certified to ISO: 27001 standards enjoy a few benefits, among them easily complying with legal requirements. There is a rise in the laws and regulations needed for information security, and ISO:27001 covers all these requirements and fulfils contractual requirements.

There is also a particular competitive advantage to having this certification, as the added layer of confidence will attract more clients to their services. Moreover, a robust ISMS also helps lower costs as it helps prevent security incidents that can cost companies money. Lastly, ISO:27001 helps companies become better organised by documenting processes.
